Did this section as part of a Swainby/Bilsdale/Hawnby/Arden Moor loop I like in May last year, and yes, bridge has been replaced. Quite a posh one it is too compared with the old one.

The bridge has been fixed at last, and the route reopened. As far as I know, all the other routes in this guide are now fully open.

The bridge at SE 531 909 over the river Rye has still not been replaced, and the right of way is closed until Jan 2007. See notice for more details. In the meantime, you'll have to use the road via Hawnby, unless you like wet feet.
