Review for North Face Hammerhead Hydration Pack

Nice bag, not so sure about the orange colour

Hammerhead Hydration Pack (North Face)

This is the first North Face rucksac I have used, and I'm impressed with the attention to detail. It's not bike specific, and indeed I have used it for walking as well. The 12 litre capacity seems to be perfect for a summer all day ride, although it might be a little small for a full winter day. The attention to detail is great, for example there's a magnet by the bite valve that means it will catch onto the chest strap, and not flap around, yet will break free when you need to drink. There's a good selection of internal pockets, and two compartments, plus where the hydration bladder goes. Again the nice little touches like a lanyard to clip your keys into in the internal pocket are useful. There's also a 3 mesh pockets on the outside ideal for sticking extra items like tube in, that you can't fit in the main comparement. In summary, a well executed quality bit of kit, that stands out in a crowded market. There's also a female specific version of the same pac, which is pretty much identical, bar the colours.
